How to Become Involved in the Life of Shandon Presbyterian ChurchThe ministry and mission of Shandon are accomplished through the Session, five ministries and 32 committees and councils (not counting sub-committees). Indeed, whatever a person's interest there's a place to participate. The following list is a mere sample of what's needed to keep Shandon a vital community of faith.
Members are needed to serve on these Ministries and Committees. If you are intersted in becoming involved, but need more detailed information call the church office at 771-4408 for the name and phone number of a contact person.
MINISTRY OF ADMINISTRATION

- Housing Programs and Issues (Emergency Housing, Habitat for Humanity, Transitional Housing)
- Hunger Programs and Issues (Bread for the World, CROP Walk, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Soup Kitchens)
- Missions Programs and Issues (Cooperative Ministry, Global Missions, Migrant Ministry, Community Service Projects, Peacemaking, Refugee Resettlement
MINISTRY OF WORSHIP
- Serve as Usher (8:45 a.m. Service, 11:00 a.m. Service)
- Coordinate flowers for sanctuary
- Provide seasonal decorations
- Prepare elements for communion
- Record worship service
- Caring for silver
- Restocking pew supplies
- Serve on Music Committee (Sing in a choir, Play handbells, Play a musical instrument)
- Provide congregational devotional aids
- Plan and oversee Spiritual Enrichment Weekend
- Assist in providing communion for shut-ins
- Coordinate nursery for special services
- Plan and provide worship education
- Participate in Wedding Guild
- Provide support for memorial/funeral services
- Plan and/or participate in Arts at Shandon
MINISTRY OF HOSPITALITY
- New Member Assimilation (New member sponsor, New member luncheon, Telephone new members)
- Transportation (Presbyterian Home bus, Special needs transportation, Bus driver, nonspecific)
- Shepherd Committee (help with Inquirers' Class, Help with Friendship Register collection on Sundays, Help organize visitor lists, Telephone or visit visitors, Organize and maintain theVisitors Center in the Narthex)
- Ambassador (Train to be an Ambassador to serve at church events, Greet at Sunday services)
- Communication Committee (The Spire, The SPY, Web site and maintenance, Mailing list, The bulletin, Public relations)
